Community connections workshop - high school program
A series of graffiti, visual and digital art workshops with high school students with disability in Sarina and Mirani alongside Street Artist Muddy Grimes. The visual arts workshops will culminate in a community public art work that fosters pride.
SCOPE 2025
I can. I dream. I uncover.
SCOPE is a 3 day theatre workshop intensive in visual storytelling for young d/Deaf and hard of hearing people. We gather to see and to uncover the infinite possibilities of each individual’s identity through visual vernacular, confidence to be yourself and using imagination to discover d/Deaf and hard of hearing perspectives.

As well as strutting our stuff on the evening we also ask people to dig deep as LOOSE ENDS is also our annual major fundraiser. Crossroad Arts is partnering up with Dancenorth Australia (Townsville) and Undercover Artist (Access Arts Brisbane) to produce an exciting 3 days of workshops in contemporary movement, performance and theatre making to nurture a new crop of fresh and crushingly sweet talent!
Workshop with Alun Rhys Jones
Join us at Artspace Mackay for a visual arts workshop led by Alun Rhys Jones
Alun is an Australian-based artist, whose practice focuses on themes related to identity, commodity, media, and popular culture. Recent work has investigated the use of the body, gender, celebrity, form, language and colour in a post internet, late capitalist, consumer society.
His work questions the human condition and its relationship to visual media.

Do you have an existing arts project that you are looking to finish? Are you looking to meet up socially with other artists?
Art Party Afternoons recognises all of our unfinished projects (crochet, painting, craft, zine, artist book, comic, scribbles…whatever you are working on!). The monthly art hangs will connect our like minded community to get creative inspo and provide you a place to make.

Design a mural!
Join us at the Crossroad Arts office as we welcome acclaimed Sydney based artist Jason Wing to facilitate a workshop teaching skills in digital street art design. This workshop will culminate in a Youth Week event celebrating the launch of Jason Wing’s large scale mural.
Make Your Mark
Future faces of Mackay!
A series of graffiti and film workshops with high school students with disability in Sarina and Mirani. Participants will create a series of large scale murals with mapped projections and animations that will form the set for Crossroad Arts major production UNLOCK THE CITY.

Participants who are neurodiverse, have ADHD or are on the Autism Spectrum are invited to explore the world of filmmaking. Meet like minded people and be guided through the process and production of making a short film.

Major Production
Breathe In is multimedia piece incorporating poetry, film, music and projection that reveals how fragile the line between connection and isolation can be. It is a collaborative disability-led work that explores an alienating alternate world of existence.
